3 Go-To Spring Events In & Around Little Rock
November 7, 2023 - Rhys Branman, MDAh, spring is here! Celebrate the return of warm weather by getting out and about to see some of the great activities coming up in Little Rock (or just a short drive away). Here are three notable events to consider:
26th Annual Magnolia Blossom Festival – May 16 & 17
Whet your appetite for outdoor grilling season and enjoy fun. Voted one of Arkansas’ Top 10 events, the Magnolia Festival truly has something for everyone. Friday evening, you can enjoy a Puppet Show with the kids, witness a steak eating contest, and relax with free outdoor concert by Journey Tribute Band DSB. Saturday’s schedule includes a 5K Run, a Car & Motorcycle Show, plus a colorful parade that pulls out all the stops. The town of Magnolia is about a 2 hour drive from Little Rock, making this festival the perfect excuse for a day trip or a weekend getaway.
Riverfest 2014 – May 23 through May 25
Join the fun at this big-time celebration along the banks of the Arkansas River; it’s the single largest event in the entire state! Bring the whole family to enjoy the music and arts extravaganza that is held over the Memorial Day weekend each year. The fireworks display is always amazing; see it at 9 pm on Sunday, May 25. Featured performers include Chicago, Ceelo Green, Hank Williams Jr., The Fray, Buckcherry, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band; the Family Stage offers lots of great entertainment for the kids, including acrobats, dancing, tumbling, ballet, and a drumline.
Legends of Arkansas – May 31
Follow up Riverfest with an All-Arkansas day of fun. Celebrate our state’s rich and lively music scene with this family-friendly festival featuring over 30 Arkansas artists. In its 2nd year at First Security Amphitheater and Riverfront Park, you’ll have plenty of room to browse the arts & crafts vendors while munching on some great food truck eats. But you don’t just have to watch – jump in and participate in interactive workshops, held throughout the day. The fun starts at 11 AM and admission is free.
