Compression Garments
January 16, 2020 - Rhys Branman, MDYou may have noticed in my recovery blogs I mentioned Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center patients having liposuction, breast augmentation, or tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) would awake to find themselves wearing binders, tape, or compression garments. In doing my exploration of these products, I found a company called Veronique. From cotton breast wraps to torso binders, this company creates great products. During your surgery, I measure you to double check the perfect fit you will need, and you are supplied with the Veronique’s compression garment appropriate for your surgery to wear going home. You may want to get a look at the products at Veronique. And it’s nice to know this is an American company and the products are made in the USA!
The garments come in many shapes and sizes, perfect for many types of surgery that require compression garments or tape afterwards to prevent swelling and to help skin tighten into the new position. They wash well and are very soft, and are made from cotton or nylon/spandex. The fabrics are lightweight and breathable, and latex free. These garments open and close with Velcro or front opening zippers making for easy on and off, well, as easy as is physically possible after surgery. The company also makes postpartum garments. Many women buy sports bras from Veronique and the company even makes custom orders.
As you know, after liposuction, I instruct patients to wear a compression garment for the first 2 weeks at all times unless taking a shower. And after a tummy tuck, you will be wearing the abdominal binder 24 hours a day (except when showering, or performing wound care) for 3 weeks. This protects your muscles and gives you support. So if you are interested in learning more about any of these products, take a gander at the site!
We make sure Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center, liposuction, breast augmentation, or tummy tucks patients are provided with handpicked garments that fit you personally. Now you know that my personal preference is the Veronique line of garments, so take a look at their site. Rest assured that I size all my patients during surgery to be sure the garment is fitting properly.
