Leslie Harmon Featured in Little Rock Soiree

Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center’s very own Leslie Harmon recently met with Little Rock Soiree’s Heather Honaker to discuss her and Dr. Branman’s roles as the co-chairs of this year’s Heart Ball, an annual event held by the American Heart Association that was returning from a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During their conversation, Leslie confided with Ms. Honaker:

“As medical people, heart health and heart emergencies are always on our mind…I started with the AHA in high school as a lifeguard. They had a five-part course that we had to do, and I’ve taken CPR…Then as a nurse, we have to take advanced life support and basic life support, so it’s part of our daily, professional lives.”

When asked about their reasons for helping, Leslie explained:

“They have 55 Sweethearts this year who’ve done a year’s worth of community service and fundraising, and they haven’t had a ball since 2019. … I felt like these girls have worked really hard through all this adversity…When somebody says, ‘Hey, I need help,’ yeah, I’m going to help you, but I’m gonna help you 150%.”

We think our patients would also attest to having the 150% experience with Leslie and Dr. Branman, and we are so proud of their participation in this event!

More recently, Dr. Branman created The Arkansas Rural Health Scholarship to support, empower, and encourage first-year medical students in Arkansas who are interested in practicing medicine in rural areas of Arkansas. Dr. Branman announced and awarded the first winner in February 2022.
