Cosmetic Surgery Trend in Japan

It is likely you have read about cosmetic surgery improving Quality of Life (QOL) for many people, that outcomes are usually successful, some studies show certain procedures can improve your sex life, and you may have even seen statistics about "attractive" people generally earning more money over a lifetime. Scientific studies about attractiveness, self esteem, and the QOL are constantly being assessed through clinical trials in medicine. These involve surveys and polls of patients using specifically developed questionnaires, or measuring results physically. At Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center we follow the research closely. However, there are some not so scientific...
As you know, Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center offers dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® and Restylane® to restore the volume in your face, and to fill out folds and wrinkles. It turns out that scientists are discovering ways to keep skin from aging using these same kinds of fillers. At the University of Michigan Medical School, research has been done pointing to evidence that skin cells can not only be made to appear younger but actually act younger! It has to do with the "extracellulal matrix," or ECM. This is the tissue that surrounds and supports the cells. The ECM...
Needless to say, everyone would like a cosmetic treatment to tighten up the skin of the face and neck without surgery. Thermage at Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center is a safe and effective way to do just that. The "baby boomer" generation is feeling the results of sun damaged skin simply because the science to connect wrinkles to sunbathing was not there when we were growing up. Baby boomers ran around on the beach soaking up the sun as kids, then continued to tan mostly using baby oil (remember that?) on into their 30s. Today you can see young people...
You most likely know that October has been designated National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States. Events to raise money for breast cancer research have been held each October since 1985 when NBCAM was founded. Cities and organizations such as Susan G. Komen and Bright Pink host Race for the Cure walks all over the country. Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center has participated in these fundraising events. One of the most important and successful ways of preventing breast cancer is through mammography. Today, October 18th, has been designated National Mammography Day. As a doctor I would like to...
As breast augmentation becomes more and more popular among women, scientists and surgeons continually research not only the best procedures, but also the risks involved in those procedures. Earlier this year, a British medical journal reported that breast implants "adversely affects the survival of women" later diagnosed with breast cancer. The report is based on what is called a "meta-analysis" of 12 previous studies. A meta-analysis is when the results of previous studies are statistically analyzed. All of the studies confirmed that breast implants posed no risk in causing cancer; implants cannot cause cancer. This analysis, however, concluded that breast...

More and more people are using herbal supplements to enhance their health. In fact, a good 60 million Americans use supplemental herbs in one form or another. And most of these people are highly educated and know how to do their research. Sometimes, however, people do not consider herbs as having side effects; people seem to put them into a different category than drugs. Maybe it's because herbal supplements are generally not prescribed by a doctor. One can research and go to the health food store, or now-a-days, the grocery store to buy herbs such as ginkgo for memory, or...
Back to school wardrobes these days are beginning to include cosmetic surgery. Highly disturbing, the self-esteem lost due to the constant torment of bullying has driven children, particularly teens, to cosmetic surgery. 90,000 adolescents a year have cosmetic surgery. If you recall, in one instance, school officials negligent in their duty suggested a bullied teen have surgery. I say negligent because it would have been more appropriate to institute an anti-bullying program. There has been a lot of commentary around the Internet by surgeons and psychologists and I would like to comment as well. Cosmetic surgery is becoming more and...
