The Botox Revolution is in June!

Brotox. Men have joined the anti-wrinkle revolution. Yes, men are beginning to use BOTOX®, even here in Little Rock, on a regular basis. These brave trailblazers have taken it upon themselves to “masculinize” BOTOX®. No longer are the good drugs just for women. A movement of men seeking equality in cosmetic surgery have renamed the popular product to reflect their solidarity. Skeet Upton, a local movement activist, was quoted in an interview, reiterating the sentiments of this men’s movement, “Why should we have wrinkles? Why should the women have all the youth serums? What happened to ‘it’s a man’s world?” Indeed, what has happened to a man’s world.
So here’s the latest on the movement as recorded by Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center’s chief BOTOX® monitor:
- 15 to 30 percent of BOTOX® users are men.
- Men most commonly want BOTOX® – pardon me, Bro-tox for frown lines between the eyes.
- Use of Brotox among men has risen 10% in the past year.
Recently, a national convention of male Brotox users met in Las Vegas at the Bellagio hotel. Attending were male celebrities, mentors to many of the new users, including Simon Cowell, Patrick Dempsey, and Steve Martin. Mr. Martin joked “I don’t have anything against it theoretically if you don’t end up looking weird, like a nonperson.” From the looks of his furrow free forehead, it worked! Following Mr. Martin’s playful tribute to the raison d’etre, the guest speaker explained how BOTOX® works, and why men should demand equal access at a cosmetic surgeon’s office.
- BOTOX® is a natural, purified protein produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium.
- BOTOX® relaxes the muscles that cause lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to 4 months.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic has been widely tested and FDA approved for cosmetic use.
The men gave honest testimonials explaining why they chose Brotox. Some used Brotox to appear younger, to erase line that made them look angry, and to compete on the job market in this culture of youth. Other men had discovered women found them more attractive when they used Brotox. One professional gambler confessed he had made a small fortune by using BOTOX® to enhance his poker face! Some of the men said they found it easier to shave. As you can see, the men had very practical reasons.
Then the men broke out into small task force groups to discuss topics such as: Should June be designated as a month for “cosmetic equality?” After all Father’s Day is in June. How would this be introduced officially to the legislature? Should the Urban Dictionary be updated in order to reflect a more accurate understanding of the male usage of Brotox? But most importantly, would Dr. Branman have a sale on BOTOX® at Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center during the month of June? The answer to that one was YES!
