The Ultherapy Revolution

This is an amazing procedure because it is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that can rejuvenate your face before you need a facelift. You might have heard me talk about setting the clock back, holding off that facelift, on Good Morning Arkansas. So let me tell you a little about the procedure.

Ultherapy is a brand new technology. In fact, it almost seems likes science fiction. Although Ultherapy has been in use in Asia for several year, the FDA only approved it in the United States in 2009. Using ultrasound (hence the UL in Ultherapy), I can actually see the structures of the dermis beneath the skin, much as the baby can be seen in the mother’s belly with an ultrasound. This allows me to target the precise area where collagen growth needs to occur to fill out areas of the face that have lost volume. The sound waves heat up the skin and encourage these deeper structures to grow more collagen and that results in a more youthful look that tightens the skin. This defines the facial structures, the brows, mid-face, cheeks and under the chin. Like many of these cutting edge technologies, Ultherapy is a process that takes a few months to produce optimal rejuvenation. Consequently, you will see a lovely subtle effect that seems completely natural. Little Rock, Arkansas Ultherapy patients have told me that their friends who noticed the difference could not pinpoint just what had changed. One woman even told me her yoga teacher insisted it was the rejuvenating effect of the continued practice or yoga!

So how long does it last? Ultherapy results last up to a year or more before you may want a touch-up. Many of these new treatments are less invasive than surgical procedures, more subtle, and there is no down-time! Ultherapy does indeed turn the clock back by delaying that facelift!
