The VI Peel “Rule of 3’s”
January 18, 2023 - Rhys Branman, MDDid you know that winter is an ideal time to book skin rejuvenation treatments? Cooler weather means you are likely spending less time out in the sun, which is vital to achieving optimal results. One of our favorite ways to refresh the skin is with a VI Peel. Here, our expert Little Rock aesthetician, Crystal, shares the benefits of VI peels and what patients can expect post-treatment.
VI Peel treatment options
VI peels rejuvenate your skin using a customized chemical solution to exfoliate dull surface layers, revealing refreshed skin underneath. At Exhale Med Spa, we offer 2 VI peel treatments, each targeted to address different skin concerns.
VI Peel “Purify” contains the original VI peel formula with the addition of benzoyl peroxide, kojic acid, and hydrocortisone, making this option highly effective for treating:
- Active acne
- Teen acne (patients 13+)
- Oily and congested skin
- Breakout-prone skin
VI Peel “Precision Plus” is formulated with a hydroquinone-enriched Lighten Booster and fast-acting Brighten Booster to suppress melanogenesis and promote rapid cell turnover treating:
- Melasma
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
- Irregular skin pigmentation and UV-induced hyperpigmentation
VI Peel post-treatment peeling Rule of 3s
After receiving your Little Rock VI Peel, you may or may not experience visible peeling. Because VI Peels work deep within the dermis to improve the skin, the amount of visible peeling does not determine the level of improvement to the skin’s condition. Here is Crystal’s VI Peel Rule of 3s:
- ⅓ of patients will see sheet peeling
- ⅓ of patients will see light to heavy flaking
- ⅓ of patients will have peeling on the cellular level
The amount of visible skin peeling varies from patient to patient and may be influenced by a number of factors, including skin thickness, how oily the skin is, and the type and strength of the peel.
How to amplify your chemical skin peel results
For a total skin re-start, we recommend combining a microneedling treatment with your VI peel. While both treatments offer safe, effective skin rejuvenation benefits, together these treatments can achieve synergistic skin improvement. Here’s how you can use this dynamic duo to maximize your skin renewal results:
Step 1: Have your microneedling treatment first. Microneedling creates micro-punctures in the surface of the skin that triggers your natural healing response to increase collagen and elastin production.
Step 2: Schedule your VI Peel one month after your microneedling treatment. The VI Peel gently lifts away damaged skin cells and regenerates healthy skin cells. Alternating these treatments, spaced one month apart, works to provide glowy, refreshed skin and optimal anti-aging results.
Step 3: Protect your skin and extend your results by using medical grade skincare. Professional skincare products contain higher concentrations of active ingredients to achieve greater skin improvements; they also provide more dependable SPF and environmental protection.
We offer a package discount when you combine VI Peel and microneedling treatments!
